After the recent optimization of decentralized energy distribution for higher loads and longer cable sections in conveyor with the podis CON 5G6 energy bus system, Wieland Electric comes up with something even better: The new podis CON 5G16 now expands the range with a variant with 16 mm² cross-section for an even broader scope of application. The new cable can supply production cells and systems with up to 63 A while offering the proven benefits of the podis system. The optimized interaction of connection modules with insulation-piercing contacts and the relevant flat cable is again key here. Feeds can be made anytime and anywhere on the cable. This allows the quick adaption to changing requirements and offers the flexibility required to simply expand production facilities and machines, for example, and take up operations again after a short time. The connection components are now suited for even higher currents and for use with higher voltages. In installations with especially long cables, the voltage drop is reduced while loads remain the same.

UL system approval reduces inspection effort
The UL approval of the system is a particularly practical benefit of the podis energy bus. Exporting companies often have a hard time obtaining the approval for the operation of an electrical installation from local inspectors in the USA.
