HIGHER NUMBER OF POLES FOR MORE FLEXIBILITY

Wieland Electric extends RST® connector portfolio to include 6-pole and 7-pole models.

With the increasing functional diversity of applications in industry and building technology, the demands on the electrical installation are also rising. Wieland Electric is responding to this situation by expanding its portfolio of connectors. With the RST®20i6 and RST®20i7, the company is presenting 6-pole and 7-pole models within the RST® CLASSIC series for the very first time, further extending its versatile installation system in a logical manner. In keeping with the proven RST® philosophy, the new members of the product family can also be used flexibly, enable quick and safe assembly, and perform reliably thanks to their elevated protection rating of IP6X, even under extreme conditions. For use outdoors, the new connectors are also optionally available with an integrated water-stop feature that seals every single contact internally.

Well-conceived, right down to the last detail.

The RST®20i6 and RST®20i7 system components, which are capable of managing loads of up to 20A, can support conductors up to 2.5 mm² and are available with both screw and crimp fittings. The 6-pole model is provided specifically for dimmable emergency lights. The 7-pole connector is ideal for combining polyphase systems with signals. A total of three codings ensure both a mechanical and a color-based differentiation between different circuits. To increase safety, a distinction is also drawn between applications with and without a ground wire. Mains and extra-low voltages (SELV) can also be connected thanks to internal insulation coordination in a connector housing. The compact connectors boast high modularity and adaptability to the requirements of the application. Models are available in straight or angular versions as well as for all common cable diameters. The range even includes connectors with two cable inputs for through-wiring.

Versatile range for individual needs

With the launch of the two new connectors, Wieland Electric is showing that the RST® portfolio is growing and keeping pace with the demands of the market and of users. Whether in lighting technology, construction site power systems, plant construction and engineering, solar or events technology – thanks to its versatile and universally pluggable installation system with elevated protection rating, the company is able to offer a solution to suit any area of application. This begins with the smallest member of the family, the recently launched miniature connector RST® MICRO for LED lights and signals, and extends through to the RST® POWER series, which includes powerful connectors for large cross-sections. The RST® MINI, in turn, is ideal for extremely confined spaces, while the members of the RST® CLASSIC series, as all-rounders, put forward the most comprehensive portfolio. Wherever the connectors are used, the user not only benefits from the immense flexibility of the system but can also increase the operational readiness of the entire plant thanks to quick and easy assembly of the components that have been prefabricated at the factory.
