The direct connection
for industrial efficiency and maximum operational safety
RST® DIRECT brings speed, safety, and protection to the device connector and cable connectors — for luminaires as well as for many other electrical applications.
Instead of a conventional plug connection, the device is integrated directly into the existing infrastructure without the need to open it for electrical connection. This simplifies processes, protects warranties, and—thanks to a robust connector housing with defined strain relief—ensures a permanently reliable installation, even under harsh conditions.
RST® DIRECT IN PRACTICE
– HOW THE DIRECT CONNECTION WORKS
Experience in the video how RST® DIRECT makes the device connector and cable connections simpler, faster, and more robust. The direct connection enables a secure integration into existing infrastructures – without opening the electrical device.
Your benefits:
- Highest IP protection for reliable operation
- Internal Waterstop for additional moisture protection
- Modular structure for maximum flexibility
- Tool-free conductor connection for fast installation
- Clear pole labeling for safe wiring
FEATURES AT A GLANCE
SIMPLE
CABLE CONNECTION
The convenience connection with lever enables particularly easy wiring with RST® DIRECT — tool-free and without effort.
Single- and fine-stranded conductors up to 2.5 mm² are securely clamped and remain reliably contacted over the long term. The connection can be visually inspected at any time and is ideal for fast installations under time pressure—even in tight installation spaces or during overhead work.
CLEAR
POLE CODIFICATION
The unambiguous Pole codification on RST® DIRECT provides maximum guidance during wiring—even in poor lighting conditions.
Various markings are available and minimize the risk of reverse polarity. This supports IEC-compliant installation and enables the right solution for every application.
FAST
RETROFITTING
RST® DIRECT can be integrated into existing devices particularly easily. The 3- and 5-pole variants are inserted directly into M20-prepared enclosure feed-throughs.
This makes the switch from traditional cable glands to convenient connection technology quick and without great effort. An optional flat on the thread also ensures secure positional fixation of the device connection.
INTERNAL WATERSTOP
Integrated seals:
protection that lasts
The integrated longitudinal water seal in RST® DIRECT reliably protects against so-called longitudinal water—that is, moisture that enters the cable interior via damaged or compromised cables and can spread by capillary action to connected loads.
Even the smallest damage to cables can thus endanger sensitive devices. The permanently integrated longitudinal sealing prevents the ingress of moisture at the contacts and ensures a safe, long-term protected installation.
INTERNAL ADAPTERS
The internal adapters with push-in connection from RST® DIRECT enable a particularly flexible device connector. They are ideal for automated or robot-assisted wiring processes and can be precisely selected depending on the application.
Two models are available for different requirements:
- Model 1: Internal adapter with one clamping point per pole
– ideal for compact single connections
- Model 2: Internal adapter with two connections per pole
– optimal for practical through-wiring
Cable connector
The cable connector is the practical RST® DIRECT solution for extensions, repairs, and retrofit applications. Whether in the event of cable breakage or when devices are to be subsequently integrated via short cable sections—connections can be made quickly and safely.
This creates robust and durable connections that reduce downtime and make existing installations ready for operation again with minimal effort.
