RST® NRG 2x2.5 – PRE-ASSEMBLED FLAT CABLE SYSTEM
The versatile flat cable system for quick, safe and space-saving installation with a high IP degree of protection. With RST® NRG you can efficiently integrate electrical loads into your infrastructure: pre-assembled, pluggable and individually tailored to your application.
Power distribution
– pluggable INSTEAD OF WIRED
The RST® NRG flat cable (2x2.5 mm²) is based on the proven RST® MINI Connector system and enables the efficient integration of electrical loads into a wide variety of infrastructures — fast, safe, and space-saving.
Customer specific pre-assembled cable runs are manufactured automatically at the factory and simply plugged together on site instead of being laboriously wired. Depending on the application, loads can be connected directly via device connectors or cable assemblies. This creates flexible, scalable installation solutions — from simple applications to complex systems.
The result: a well-thought-out power distribution system that reduces installation time while offering maximum flexibility.

YOUR PRE-ASSEMBLED FLAT CABLE – EASY TO SPECIFY
For designing your RST® NRG flat cable, we only need a few details. On this basis, we create an individually pre-assembled solution that can be installed on site quickly, safely, and in a standardized manner.
RST® NRG is designed for customer-specific power distribution. Instead of a rigid online configuration, you define the key parameters of your application; we support the design and deliver the flat cable precisely pre-assembled.
The complete configuration overview with all specifications and examples can be found in the brochure.
THIS IS HOW YOUR CONFIGURATION WORKS
Gather requirements
Define the key parameters of your flat cable, for example coding, cable type, connection, terminator, and the desired distances between the source, branches, and the end of the cable.
Submit Configuration
Submit your requirements based on the brochure page or speak directly with our team. This ensures that all project-relevant information is fully taken into account.
Custom design
We review your configuration, provide support with the design as needed, and translate the specifications into a technically suitable, pre-assembled solution.
Manufacturing & labeling
The cable runs are manufactured individually, wound separately, packaged, and provided with customer-specific labeling.
Standardized installation on-site
The pre-assembled components can be installed quickly and safely on site – with reduced wiring effort, less error potential, and consistent quality.

IMPORTANT NOTES
Safety Instructions
- All components may only be installed, commissioned and maintained by qualified electricians.
- Observe the applicable national installation regulations.
- Installation connector systems are not a substitute for national plug and socket systems intended for domestic use.
- The connectors are not suitable for interrupting current. Never connect or disconnect under load.
- Connectors with different voltage ratings must not be connected to each other.
- Compliance with DIN EN IEC 61535 alone does not automatically exclude the risk of confusion with installation connector systems from other manufacturers.
- In easily accessible areas, suitable sealing caps must be used (06.563.8753.1 or 06.563.8953.1).
Installation connector systems are not a substitute for national plug and socket systems intended for domestic use. - The locking mechanisms are an integral part of the connector system.
Installation Instructions
- According to regulations, the live part must always be the female connector. Therefore, a ring circuit design is not possible in a standards-compliant installation.
- The connectors must be protected against bending forces by additional measures (e.g. do not suspend loads from cables; do not leave cable coils hanging freely, etc.).
- Choose a horizontal installation position to ensure water drainage. In accordance with IEC 60364-5-52 (DIN VDE 0100-522.3), cable and wiring systems must be designed to prevent damage caused by water ingress.
- Cable and wiring systems must comply with the required degree of protection. Where water accumulation or condensation may occur, suitable drainage measures must be provided. This applies in particular to sealing points in the strain relief area.
- Where abrasion may occur (flexible installations), wear of the pre-assembled cable must be taken into account and regularly inspected.
- Avoid kinking the cable in the strain relief area. Minimum bending radii must be observed.
- Mechanical bending movements in the strain relief area must be absorbed by suitable measures (e.g. cable clamps).
- For connectors with contact seals: use only one component with contact sealing, either the male or the female connector.
- To ensure compliance with the IP protection rating and protection against accidental contact, sealing caps (accessories) must always be fitted to all unused male or female connectors.
- The installation standard IEC 60364-5-52 (VDE 0100-520) must be observed.
Further Important Notes
- Protection against accidental contact with live parts is generally ensured, even when disconnected.
- All components can be securely locked together.
- The connector system is not designed for permanent underwater operation.
- Direct underground installation of the system components is not intended. In accordance with IEC 60364-5-52 (VDE 0100-520), connectors must be provided with suitable additional protection and remain accessible for inspection, testing and maintenance.
- The connectors are polarity-protected and cannot be contacted in a single-pole state.
- 2-pole connectors are housed in a 3-pole enclosure, with one pole left unused.
