- Our revos connectors have been certified by UL within file E341867 under UL Recognition categories PVVA2 (USA) and PVVA8 (Canada).
- These connectors have undergone rigorous testing to achieve these designations so they can provide hassle-free and time-saving field assembly.
- The UL Recognized status under PVVA2 allows for the use of our revos connectors in UL 508A panels without any further evaluation within the end product.
To prepare for the future needs of our customers, Wieland Electric has updated the certifications of our heavy-duty multipole connector system revos to include the latest PVVA2 / PVVA8 categories for connecting to UL 508A panels. Customers using industrial connectors in control panels, switchgear and other control systems will benefit from the quick and easy connection of our pluggable industrial products without needing to seek additional certifications or approvals.

NEW CERTIFICATIONS – PVVA2 / PVVA8
After discussions with customers and industry experts, Wieland sought to provide a solution that would allow customers to use the revos connectors simply and quickly. The solution was to have the revos connectors investigated by UL under a new UL Recognized category PVVA2.
UL Recognized PVVA2 connectors will allow customers to

- avoid additional delays and costs verus their ECBT2 counterparts.

Wieland has recently certified the following revos connectors to the new UL categories PVVA2 / PVVA8:

WHAT IS PVVA2?
UL recently created a new standard for investigating industrial connectors meant for use in UL 508A electrical panels. Connectors complying with the strict requirements of UL 2237 are granted certification under the UL Recognition category PVVA2. Similarly, cable assemblies (connectors coupled with specifc cables) can also be investigated under UL 2237 and be granted a UL Listed status under the category PVVA.
Wieland has opted not to create cable assemblies under UL category PVVA. Instead, we have chosen to have the connectors evaluated on their own under UL category PVVA2 and provide customers full freedom in selecting cables for their particular applications. UL Recognized PVVA2 connectors may be used in UL 508A panels without any additional investigation as all that work has already been completed at UL in partnership with Wieland.
UL Recognized PVVA2 connectors, when installed per their Conditions of Acceptability, do not require any further UL investigation, just like their UL Listed PVVA cable assembly counterparts. UL Recognized PVVA2 connectors in fact provide greater flexibility in terms of cables and other mounting accessories.
UL Recognized PVVA2 connectors may be accompanied by Conditions of Acceptability such as:
- Cable types, cross section, OD
- Voltage and current ratings
- Correct fuse types to ensure SCCR ratings

The revos connectors with their latest UL Recognition under categories PVVA2 will offer customers a time tested connection technology with major time and cost savings compared to their UL Recognized ECBT2 counterparts.
✅ REVOS BASIC AND POWER SERIES: VERSATILE CURRENT HANDLING
The revos Basic series of connectors with a maximum of 24 poles will be capable of handling up to 16A while the revos Power series of connectors with a maximum of 6 poles will be capable of handling up to 35A.
✅ REVOS Q 8 AND Q 4/2 SERIES: DIVERSE AMPACITY OPTIONS
The revos Q 8 series of connectors with a maximum of 8 poles will be capable of handling up to 14A while the revos Q 4/2 series of connectors with their unique combination of power and signal circuits will be capable of handling up to 22A.
✅ REVOS CONNECTORS: RELIABLE 600V AND 65KA SCCR RATING
All connectors have been evaluted for a working voltage of 600V. The revos Power and revos Q series of connectors have an SCCR rating of 65kA to allow for use in high current feeder circuits.
⚠️ UNCHANGED DESIGN FOR DECADES: REVOS CONNECTOR SAFETY AND RELIABILITY
It is important to note that while the revos family of connectors have been investigated to a new set of requirements within the PVVA2 category, the connector designs remain unchanged. This ensures that the products function safely and reliably as they have for decades.
FURTHER QUESTIONS
Since this category only covers connectors (without cables), UL has classified them as Recognized instead of Listed. When these connectors are coupled with cables, they can be certified and sold as UL Listed cable assemblies. Wieland will not be offering such cable assemblies to allow customers maximum flexibility in choosing cables for their applications.
No. PVVA2/PVVA8 revos connectors may be used in UL 508A panels without any additional investigation as all that work has been completed at UL by the manufacturer (Wieland). PVVA2/PVVA8 connectors must be installed per their Conditions of Acceptability by trained professionals.
