NEW: RST® NRG flat cable system 2 x 2.5 mm
Structured power distribution in a compact format
At Wieland Electric, five decades of experience mean five decades of continuous development. The result is practical solutions for the requirements of modern and future-oriented electrical installations. At Light + Building 2026, the company will present the new RST® NRG flat cable system, another logical addition to its proven portfolio. The new system enables structured and pluggable power distribution for the efficient integration of electrical consumers. This creates an economical and clear installation solution with a high degree of prefabrication, particularly for infrastructure and outdoor applications.
Conventional installation methods require a great deal of time and manpower, as cables have to be cut to size, stripped and wired. This not only ties up valuable resources, but also increases the risk of errors. The RST® NRG flat cable system significantly simplifies this process, as factory-automated pre-assembled cable harnesses enable quick and reproducible installation. Power is distributed in a structured manner along a defined cable route, and consumers can be integrated flexibly and in precisely the right position. It therefore provides a comprehensive solution from the power supply to the end device. This makes planning, material use and installation more efficient and, above all, more transparent.
Proven technology in a compact design
The RST® NRG flat cable system is based on the established RST® MINI connector system. Customised cable harnesses are manufactured at the factory and quickly and securely connected on site via pluggable interfaces. Depending on the application, the consumers are connected directly via an RST® MINI device connection or via pre-assembled connection cables. The system architecture always remains modular and scalable.
Suitable system components are available for different installation requirements:
- Connectors for feed-in
- Connectors for power outputs
- Device connections for end devices
- Pre-assembled cables
- Distribution blocks
- End pieces or pluggable interfaces for power continuation
Even complex installation structures can be implemented with just a few standardised components. The cable layout can be planned individually and is also systematically structured.

Secure connection
The integrated TWISTLOCK locking mechanism from the RST® MINI system ensures a secure connection, as the connectors automatically lock into place when plugged together. This gives the user clear feedback about the correct end position and, if necessary, the connection can be released again with a defined twisting motion.
Two colour codes are available for different areas of application: the brown code is designed for low-voltage applications and the black code is intended for mains voltage applications. A mechanical code prevents accidental mixing up of the systems, thereby increasing operational safety.
Compact and time-saving
The RST® NRG flat cable system significantly reduces installation costs thanks to its plug & play approach. At the same time, it creates a space-saving and visually unobtrusive infrastructure that is particularly suitable for visible installation areas.
The combination of prefabrication, plug-in technology and modular expandability creates an economical solution for modern energy distribution. Planners, installers and operators benefit from planning reliability, reduced installation times and a clear system structure.
Visitors to Light + Building can experience this innovation live for the first time in Hall 12.0 at Stand E71.
