PODIS® with Circuitbreaker Module
Flat cable tap-off with integrated protection function for the proven podis® flat cable system
Better safe than sorry!
The podis® CON Circuitbreaker Module combines the flat cable tap-off from the podis® CON 5G16 or 5G6 system with decentralized protection using integrated LS or FI/LS. It consists of two main assemblies: the connecting module for connection to the flat cable and a flange-mount housing that enables the installation of DIN-rail devices. As an alternative to protection, it allows the integration of a maintenance switch or motor protection circuit breaker.
The module is completely prewired and equipped with the necessary FI/LS or LS switches. It offers variants for fixed wiring with cable screw gland as well as for a pluggable installation. As is customary with the podis® flat cable systems, the module is available with a pluggable RST® output or an output with cable screw gland for conventional wiring.
The module, including the integrated DIN-rail devices, is fully prewired and tested at the factory and is therefore ready for immediate use—for safe and efficient power distribution.

- Combined flat cable tap-off & protection – enables decentralized protection directly from the podis® CON 5G16 or 5G6 system.
- Flexibility in the configuration – free combination of 10 different components with different connection and output variants.
- Signal outputs – optional up to three M12 outputs for indication or signal forwarding.
- Alternative integration of a maintenance switch or motor protection circuit breaker – for a space-saving and efficient protection solution directly in the module.
- Space for up to 4 modular spacing (for DIN-rail devices) – enables the use of additional protection and control components.
- Easy and safe installation – thanks to modular design with robust housing, sealing and flexible wiring.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
The flange-mount housing can be configured from a total of 10 different components. This allows the outputs to be provided for different plug system or with cable screw gland. In addition, the DIN-rail device (up to 4 modular spacing) and the associated wiring can be selected flexibly.
INDIVIDUALLY CONFIGURABLE
You can configure modules yourself according to your requirements. The modules consist of two main assemblies – the connecting module (C) and the flange-mount housing. The flange-mount housing consists of various lower (VB) and upper parts (VC). In addition, DIN-rail devices, pluggable outputs, cable glands, and prewiring can be integrated as desired. The connecting elements for the two main assemblies cannot be configured.
1. CONNECTING MODULES FOR THE Circuitbreaker Module
For the podis® flat cable system, two suitable connection modules are available, which can be selected according to power requirements. Option C1 is designed for larger conductor cross-sections and is ideal for applications with higher energy demand. Option C2 is the more compact variant for medium power ranges. Both modules enable a simple and safe connection to the flat cable system and contribute to flexible power distribution in the field.

2. BOTTOM PARTS FOR THE Circuitbreaker Module
For the bottom part of the podis® system, eight different variants are available, which can be optimally adapted to the application. The versions VB1 to VB3 offer suitable cutouts for round cables in different sizes. Variants VB4 to VB6 are specifically designed for use with pluggable systems such as RST20/25 or GST18i5. In addition, the options VB7 and VB8 enable further flexible solutions—for example, for the connection of flat cables or as a closed version. Each bottom part variant thus supports application-oriented and safe installation in the field.

3. TOP PARTS FOR THE Circuitbreaker Module
For the podis® system, four different top parts are available, which can be flexibly combined depending on the area of use. The variants VC1 to VC4 offer various cover designs and cutouts for M12 connections. While VC1 is equipped with a closed cover, VC2 and VC4 have cutouts for hinged lids – ideal for applications with integrated controls or indicators. VC3 is specifically intended for use with maintenance switches. All variants offer knockouts for M12 cable glands and enable an adaptable, modular system design.
