CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE PACT OF BAVARIA
Wieland Electric is committed to the goals of environmental and climate protection and takes responsibility for the future
May 25, 2022, the Bavarian Minister of State for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber, presented Wieland Electric GmbH with the certificate of participation in the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact.
During the presentation in the company's new showroom, Glauber emphasized: "Climate protection is a winning topic for the economy. Because: economy and ecology belong together. Bavaria as a business location is also Bavaria as an environmental location." According to Glauber, economic success can no longer be achieved in the long term without sustainability. The Environment and Climate Pact would bring together the issues of climate, environment and sustainability.
Beforehand, Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Börne Rensing and Division Manager for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Zdravko Crepulja gave the Minister a tour of the new showroom at the company's headquarters in Brennerstraße. Glauber, himself a trained communications electronics technician, was enthusiastic about the numerous possibilities and innovations that modern electrical engineering has to offer in terms of sustainability and climate protection.
Wieland Electric GmbH joined the then Environmental Pact back in 2004. Through a comprehensive environmental management system according to EMAS as well as other individual measures, the company is committed to the issue of sustainability. For example, CO2 emissions are avoided through the targeted conversion to regenerative energies and energy consumption is reduced through the improvement of production facilities. The use of LED lighting also saves energy. "We are very pleased about the recognition and at Wieland we have always stood for sustainable and environmentally conscious business practices," says Rensing.
The new environmental and climate pact was signed on October 1, 2020 by top representatives of the Bavarian state government and Bavarian industry. It is intended to provide new impetus for climate protection and develop solutions for dealing with environmental and sustainability issues. Environmental and climate protection in companies and businesses is given high priority. The pact also covers topics such as resource and energy efficiency, renewable energies, waste disposal and recycling, species protection and sustainable water use.
